This treatment calms, relaxes and centers in support of an internally nourishing and restorative balance. In addition, this treatment performs detoxification and cleansing which has been shown to significantly decrease alcohol and drug cravings and withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia and agitation.
Neurofeedback Treatments at the clinic include:
- 20 Treatment Package: After a full diagnostic intake, the patient sits comfortably in a chair and relaxes while either playing a game, watching a video, or listening to music. The entertainment flows, uninterrupted, while the brain is using desired, healthly processing patterns. As the brain moves away from the targeted patterns, the computer inhibits that activity by by interrupting and pausing the entertainment. As the brain moves back into healthy patterns, the computer rewards this by allowing the entertainment to again flow without any restrictions or interruptions. The patient does nothing more than sit back and relax; their brain does all of the work. As the mind perceives the effect it has on how the entertainment is presented, it notices where it was and what is was doing when the video or music or game stopped. It wants the reward of additional, uniterrupted entertainment, and so it moves back into the good patterns that it was using prior to the interruption. After a series of treatments, the mind, just like any other muscle or organ in the body, is strengthend and conditioned to regulate itself and to stay in the healthy patterns that relieve the patient from whatever symptoms they might have been suffering from. The computer DOES NOT put any signals or electrical currents or impusles into the brain. The process of neurofeedback is totally passive. The computer simply monitors the brain wave patterns and provides feedback in the form of rewards or inhibits built into the entertainment that the patient is experiencing. This allows the brain to monitor itself and then learn to control itself.
